gfu is the trade mark owner and organizer of the world's largest Consumer and Home Electronics Trade Show IFA. The "corporation of supporting the consumer electronics in Germany" was founded in 1973 by the eleven leading consumer electronics companies.
Due to the current commitment of the shareholder companies the company trades under the name gfu Consumer & Home electronics GmbH.
Today, gfu has 13 shareholders, namely: Astra Deutschland GmbH, BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, Canton Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG, Grundig Intermedia GmbH, Loewe Technologies GmbH, Metz Consumer Electronics GmbH, Miele & Cie. KG, Nokia GmbH, Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH, Philips GmbH, Samsung Electronics GmbH, Sharp Electronics GmbH, and Sony Deutschland GmbH.
Next to the organization of IFA gfu's main goal is providing information to the public about trends and developments of consumer and home electronics. gfu is periodically informing the media and the public about trends and developments of consumer and home electronics as well as about IFA via market analysis and press releases.
